New Concepts in HPC Storage
With the most recent news on the EU enforcement to harvest all kind of
telephone and internet connection data, Googles street-view project, their
enormous efforts in digitizing books, the fact that the number of messages,
twitter stores, increased by a factor of 10 between 2009 and 2010 and the
like, one does not need to be a computing expert to understand that large
scale data storage is already playing a key role in modern society. This
presentation will provide a random walk through the topic of data storage by
presenting some of the upcoming problems and on solutions and strategies
picked by different communities. The talk will focus on the current European
Scientific Data Management ecosystem.
